Handling Workpieces That Arrive at Odd Angles
Not every part arrives at the handling station in a neat, predictable position. Some come off the conveyor at an angle. Others are nested together and need to be separated. This multi-axis robotic gripper provides the freedom to reach into these situations from multiple directions. With its articulated motion, the gripper can access workpieces from the side, from above, or even from underneath, allowing it to handle parts that would be difficult for simpler pick-and-place devices to reach. It is used in filling lines, machining cells, and packaging stations where parts must be approached from different orientations.
Motion That Follows the Workpiece Path
The gripper's multiple axes work in coordinated motion, allowing it to follow curved or angled paths rather than just straight-line movements. This capability is important when the gripper needs to place a workpiece into a fixture at a specific angle or when it must move around obstacles on the production floor. Each axis is servo-driven, providing fine control over speed and position. The repeat positioning accuracy ensures that the gripper places each item within tight tolerances-important when feeding parts into machines that require precise alignment.
End Tooling That Adapts to Different Parts
The gripper's end-of-arm mounting accepts various tooling types. For handling bottles, it can be fitted with soft-touch jaws that avoid marring the surface. For cartons, a wider jaw set distributes the clamping force. For flat items like panels or trays, suction cups provide a secure grip without contact marks. The tooling can be changed or adjusted to accommodate different part shapes. The mounting interface follows standard patterns, allowing customers to fit their own tooling if preferred.
Programming for Quick Changeovers
All motion paths are stored as programmable routines. When the production line switches to a new product, the operator selects the corresponding program rather than manually repositioning stops or changing mechanical linkages. This programmability reduces downtime between production runs, making the gripper suitable for lines that handle multiple SKUs. The programs can be adjusted to fine-tune approach speed, grip force, and placement location.
Engineering and Ordering Support
The company's engineering team works with customers to match the gripper's axis configuration, working radius, and tooling to the specific handling task. After the drawings are confirmed, the production cycle is determined based on an assessment of the project's complexity. Payment terms follow 50 percent advance and 50 percent before shipment. The gripper is tested at the factory for full-axis motion accuracy before packaging. Export packaging uses plywood crates with protective wrapping for servo components. A 12-month warranty covers manufacturing defects.
