A pipe support is a structural component used to support above-ground piping. Types include fixed supports, sliding supports, guide supports, and rolling supports. Pipe supports are utilized wherever piping is installed and are also referred to as pipe rests or pipe mounts.
1. Classified into three load categories: extra-light (Q), medium, and extra-heavy (Z). Each load category encompasses four structural types: axial sliding, bidirectional sliding, guided sliding, and double-guided sliding.
2. Classified by material into steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, brick-and-timber structures, etc.
3. Classified by function into movable supports (allowing for pipe displacement at the support) and fixed supports (anchored to the pipe).
Movable supports include sliding supports, guide supports, and rolling supports.
